The Frustrated Clinician Bsc (Hons) MSc PhD……..!   

If you are a frustrated clinician who has spent years and years gathering certificates and letters after your name, know your clinical competence is important.  Just understand clients will assume your expertise and what they need to know is that your practice OR practices are the right place for them. And you do that by showing you understand them and communicating the transformation they will get from working with you, rather than expecting potential client to translate your qualifications and how it is relevant to them.

Potential clients need to KNOW, LIKE and TRUST you. They will only trust you if they feel, you really understand their pain and know your practice can help them get the result they are looking for.  The feeling of being in pain is what is going to trigger a buying response but first they want to know whether or not you can actually help them transform. So that is what you’ve got to really tap into. Using the language that your audience would use eg “I can’t get out of bed in the morning”. People are looking for somebody who really gets their pain, who understands what they need, is able to produce a plan of action to help them and tailor a treatment plan for their specific needs to get them back up on their feet without drugs or surgery as quickly as possible. You’ve got to put a focus on ensuring that your messaging is highly specific, but very relevant to your potential client.

The Transformation Your Practice Delivers

You might have heard this again and again… just be you, just be authentic, people will love you.  Whilst that’s great and might get you a load of likes on Social Media it doesn’t get you clients.

Authenticity alone is a lie and won’t position you as the go to expert that you are! No successful company has ever got where it is based on personality alone!   You want to differentiate your practice from competition and not be yet another clinic saying the same thing, drowning in the noise of a social media shouting match…. just seeing who can have the most posts and most likes in a day, week or month.  One day someone somewhere will come along who shouts a little louder than you and poof you’re gone!  

You want your practice to be be known for the results it delivers, receiving a stream of recommendations and referrals as the go to clinic.  This means there has to be a solid and tangible reason why someone picks your clinic over anyone else’s!  And being nice alone doesn’t cut it, nor do all your certificates!  Neither instil confidence that you can produce results in tangible way for potential clients … (Yes you should be nice and of course you should be well qualified!)

People buy on emotion they justify their purchase with logic, evidence and proof.  Which means you have to be intelligent and you have to know the strategic objective of your practice and the transformation it brings clients,  You need to know and communicate why your practice’s methods will give potential clients their desired transformation. 

  • What’s your secret sauce? 
  • What do you do?
  • What is the problem your clinic helps them solve?
  • How do you do it?
  • What is the outcome clients get from working with you?
  • Why can only your practice deliver the results your client want?
  • What separates you from the crowd?
  • What makes your services desirable?  

Now you can start to define your services and tailoring your messaging to ensuring that your ideal client is able to connect with your practice emotionally and logically.
