Lessons from the Foot and Mouth epidemic
In this Podcast Jo and I discuss the relevance of PR for Physiotherapy Practices with specific focus on
1. Value of PR as part of the overall marketing mix
2. What PR actually is as opposed to marketing
3. Value of good content, especially online – as Google says “content is king”.
Jo began her career in newspaper journalism as a cub reporter, progressing to news editing and sub-editing, before turning freelance and writing for national women’s and parenting magazines.With a young family, and the unsocial hours journalism offers, Jo decided to move into PR. She worked both with in-house corporate PR teams and agencies, before setting up her boutique PR/copywriting business, Word Worker, now in its 12th year.
Jo works with SMEs, using her journalism experience to craft press releases which hit the mark with the media, gaining free editorial coverage for clients. She also writes websites, blogs, award entries and case studies. Her clients range from accountants and financial advisers, to homecare and charities, to book illustrators and even warehouse storage!
